About Us

Arun Uppal brings to Plane View over 15 years of diversified aviation industry experience that has spanned the aircraft leasing, aircraft OEM, airline, management consulting and education sectors.  During this time, Mr. Uppal has assumed leadership roles in areas that have included strategy development, operational improvement, and organizational transformation.  Specific functional competencies include airline and aircraft economics, maintenance cost analysis, market forecasting, and program / project management.

Prior to joining Plane View Partners, Mr. Uppal led transformation and redesign of the Engineering and Maintenance division for Malaysia Airlines in Kuala Lumpur on behalf of Seabury Aviation and Aerospace.  Additional previous experience includes: Assistant Vice President of Strategic Planning at International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC), Senior Associate at the Seabury Group, Airline Marketing at Bombardier Commercial Aircraft (C Series), Network Planning at America West Airlines/US Airways and Professor at Seneca College's School of Aviation and Flight Technology. Mr. Uppal holds a MBA in Aviation from the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University in Montreal and a BSc in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Toronto.

Christian Sabardine brings clients almost 30 years of aerospace industry experience in sales and transaction structuring and negotiation. For the past couple years, Christian served as President of Aerospace Transactions International LLC, a consultancy / advisory firm in Aerospace / Aviation sales, marketing, financing, commercial transaction negotiations and closing, contract and project management, for clients in the Americas, Europe and Asia.
Prior to ATI, Mr. Sabardine worked for Airbus for over 25 years in various sales, marketing, contracts and customer relations positions, based both in Europe and in the Americas. In his latest assignment at Airbus, he was Vice President Sales Contracts and Transactions for Airbus Americas, based in the Washington DC area.  He was a key member of the Airbus Americas management team which increased market share from 10% to over 50% in 15 years and grew in-service fleet to over 1800 aircraft in operation.

Mr. Sabardine has successfully led or participated in negotiations for over 100 complex aircraft sales transactions for Airbus during his tenure by firmly establishing large Airbus fleets at United, American, Delta, US Airways, and at multiple low cost carriers as well as at major upcoming Latin American airlines.  He also cooperated extensively with other large Aerospace key stakeholders such as Engine Manufacturers and Aircraft Lessors.

Andy Shankland is an Executive Director at Plane View Partners. Mr. Shankland has held senior management positions at Airbus, including Senior Vice President Leasing Markets, Vice President Marketing and also Head of Sales and Marketing in North America. During this career, Mr. Shankland also had the opportunity to work on the commercial launch phases of a number of Airbus aircraft, including the A320neo, A330neo, A350XWB and A380.

From 2011 to 2015, Mr. Shankland was Senior Vice President Leasing Markets for Airbus. In this role, he was in charge of all Commercial activity with world-wide lessors. Prior to this, he was Vice President Marketing for Airbus, where his responsibilities included managing the development and implementation of all customer and product marketing activities for the complete range of Airbus commercial products world-wide, including during the launch of the A320neo Family. From 2002 to 2008, Mr. Shankland had a variety of management roles at Airbus North America, including Head of Sales and Marketing, Vice President of Sales and Business Development. Between 1994 and 2001, Mr. Shankland worked for Airbus North America in a number of marketing roles and prior to that, as Senior Airline Analyst in the Marketing Division for Airbus Industrie. Prior to joining Airbus, Andy spent five years with British Aerospace (BAe).

 Andy graduated in 1983 with a BSc (Eng) in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College of Science and Technology, in London, England.

During his international career, Craig Segor has held a variety of aviation management executive positions, airline and aerospace consulting roles and project management responsibilities, including strategy development, business and financial analysis, modeling and forecasting, contract negotiation and optimization, project management, M&A, and acquisition due diligence. Until recently, Mr. Segor was Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning, with International Lease Finance Corporation (“ILFC”), responsible for ILFC’s medium- and long-term planning, driving a holistic approach to decision-making, and managing the implementation of major strategic initiatives and process improvements.

Prior to ILFC, Mr. Segor was Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer at Seabury Consulting, a division of Seabury Aviation & Aerospace, where he played a leading role in developing the Management Consulting business, including overseeing the Maintenance and Aerospace practices. Before Seabury, Mr. Segor was a Project Manager in the Strategic Development Group at TACA International Airlines in El Salvador, and a consultant with Bain & Company in South Africa.

Peter Fiene,

Managing Director & CFO

During his 18 year career, Peter Fiene has held a variety of executive level management and advisory positions in the aviation and aerospace, consulting and other industries. Mr. Fiene has successfully led multiple: large scale business turnarounds; fleet strategy and aircraft procurement campaigns; product, sales and marketing transformations; due diligence, business planning and merger evaluations; contract negotiations; and operational performance improvements. Mr. Fiene was Executive Director at Seabury Consulting, a division of Seabury Aviation & Aerospace, where he played a leading role in founding and developing the management consulting business.

Most recently Mr. Fiene took a hiatus from the aviation and aerospace industries to lead a commercial and operational restructuring as the Chief Operating Officer of private equity portfolio company in the consumer services sector. Previously, Mr. Fiene was a Manager at Bain & Company in South Africa, and a Project Manager in the Strategic Development Group at TACA International Airlines in El Salvador. Mr. Fiene holds a Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.

Until recently, Henri Courpron was Chief Executive Officer of International Lease Finance Corporation ("ILFC"). From his appointment in May 2010 through the completion of the sale to AerCap in May 2014 for a valuation of $7+ Billion, Mr. Courpron led a series of strategic initiatives to restore and strengthen ILFC’s financial position, and undertook a broad upgrade of the company’s capabilities in order to improve its governance and its global footprint.

Prior to joining ILFC, Mr. Courpron was President at Seabury Aviation & Aerospace, an advisory and investment banking firm in New York. Before joining Seabury, Mr. Courpron served a 20-year career with Airbus where he reached the position of Executive Vice President, Procurement at Airbus headquarters in Toulouse, France with a team of 2,000 people and an $18B annual spending budget. He also held a number of other aviation management executive positions including President and Chief Executive Officer of Airbus, North America. He most significantly led all Airbus’ sales and marketing efforts in North America leading to a market share consistently above 50% in the late 90’s and record customer satisfaction levels.

Ian Glover,

Managing Director & COO

Ian Glover has a successful track record as a management consultant working with clients to build unique solutions to a variety of strategic, commercial and operational challenges. His extensive advisory experience across the global aerospace and aviation industry includes partnering with OEMs, airlines, MROs, and a range of industry investors. He has played a leading role in multiple engagements including business strategy, maintenance and supply chain optimization, marketing and sales strategy, market forecasts, M&A target screening / due diligence, labor productivity, fleet acquisition, and corporate turnarounds.  

Until recently, Mr. Glover was a Senior Vice President and partner at Seabury Consulting where he helped build the practice over his 9-year tenure. He was responsible for securing and executing client engagements globally, supporting the Americas regional practice, and co-managing the Consulting practice’s New York head office. Prior to Seabury, Mr. Glover worked for Daimler as an internal consultant focused on developing and implementing a new dealer network strategy.​
